This one’s for Toy Story fans. Up for preorder now is a new batch of Funko Pops based on the upcoming Disney and Pixar movie Lightyear (see them at Amazon). You can pick up adorable vinyl figures of the main cast, including several iterations of Buzz himself, plus Izzy, Sox the cat and, of course, Zurg. Notably missing is Buzz in his traditional suit; presumably that will come in a later batch.
The figures are set to arrive on August 12, with an MSRP of $12.99. The one exception is an Amazon-exclusive Buzz figure that’s wearing a space suit that glows in the dark and costs a buck more.
Preorder Lightyear Funko Pops
The movie Lightyear hits theaters June 17. It’s a Toy Story spin-off, but what it is, exactly, is sort of hard to wrap your mind around (or at least it is for me). Lightyear is a sci-fi movie within the Toy Story universe. It’s the movie that spawned the Buzz Lightyear action figure we all know and love from the Toy Story movies. To help differentiate the toy version of Buzz from the sci-fi movie character version, Chris Evans will voice Buzz in Lightyear, rather than Tim Allen. Make sense?
If you’re a Funko Pop fan, this is not the only recent batch of pop-culture figures up for preorder — not by a long shot. You can preorder Jurassic World Dominion Funkos, Thor: Love & Thunder Funkos, Star Wars: Duel of the Fates Funkos, Peacemaker Funkos, Doctor Strange Funkos, Pokemon Funkos, Squid Game Funkos, and more. Safe to say the Funko company does not rest on its laurels. Not a bunch of slackers over there in Funko Land.
Anyway, preorder these Lightyear figures, and you’ll get them this summer.
