IGN's Resident Evil 4 Wiki includes all guides for the classic RE4 released in 2005, the HD version that debuted in 2011, and the all new Resident Evil 4 Remake released in 2023 with significant gameplay changes.

As the fourth main installment in the Resident Evil series, players return to the role of a now seasoned Leon S. Kennedy, six years after the events of Resident Evil 2. Tasked with a mission to recover the President's daughter, Leon will have to uncover a sinister plot hiding in a remote Spanish village and escape the nightmare within.

Please Note: Due to the major differences between the original Resident Evil 4, and the new Resident Evil 4 Remake, much of the walkthrough and guide will be different than what you may have encountered in the classic version of the game. This wiki will include separate walkthroughs for each version, and each page that contains elements from both games will be clearly marked to note RE4 Remake content, and classic RE4 information.

Merchant Requests

New to Resident Evil 4 Remake are Merchant Requests. These are little blue notes you can find hung up around different locations that you visit, and each has a request for you to fulfill to earn Spinel (which can be traded in to the Merchant for different Weapons, Items, and Maps).
